Buying and downloading
All three versions at once: the Unreal Engine 5 pack, the Unity package and the raw files (heightmaps, textures, meshes). Frosthölm packs ship in their Unreal version for now.
On the site you get the three versions and deal with me directly. On the marketplaces, their own terms and licences apply.
Check your spam folder first. If nothing shows up within 10 minutes of your purchase, write to contact@kalysteon.com with your order email.
Digital products aren't taken back once delivered. If a file is faulty or doesn't match its description, tell me: I fix or replace it, and if I can't, you get a refund.
Licences
Personal covers non-commercial use: learning, personal projects, portfolio, prototypes, free games with no monetisation. Commercial covers everything, including sold or monetised games, client work, films and ads, for you, your team and your contractors.
Yes. Pay the price difference by writing to contact@kalysteon.com.
Reselling or sharing the source files, even modified, putting them in a marketplace or asset library, and using them to train an AI model.
Compatibility and updates
Packs are built and tested for Unreal Engine 5 and Unity 6. Much older versions aren't guaranteed.
Yes. When a pack is updated, existing buyers get the new version at no extra cost.
Yes, both licences cover an unlimited number of projects.
Getting started
Stratum drives Gaea, Houdini, Unreal Engine and Unity; it does not replace them. You need your own licences for the ones in your pipeline.
Current, widely used versions of Gaea, Houdini, Unreal and Unity. If you hit a compatibility issue, tell me.
Full documentation is on its way, and Stratum tutorials are coming to the Tutorials page.
Licences and updates
Free is for personal, non-commercial use. Indie and Studio include commercial use, and Studio covers a team within one studio. Details are on the Stratum page.
Stratum tells you in the app when a new version is out; download it from the Stratum page. A paid licence includes one year of updates, and the software keeps working after that.
Paid licences are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment, invoices, taxes and refund requests.
Something wrong?
Use the "Report a problem" button in Stratum, or write to contact@kalysteon.com with a description and your setup.
Before starting
Three kinds of worlds: a custom terrain, a complete world, or a hero asset, delivered playable in Unreal Engine 5 or Unity.
Just tell me about your project: the game, the mood, what the player does there. References help, but the brief is five questions, no jargon.
Yes, mostly indie developers, from solo creators to studios with a budget.
Price and payment
Every project gets its own quote, set together after the brief. It states the content, the price, the included revisions, the timeline and the rights.
A 50% deposit to start, the remaining 50% at final approval, before the final files are delivered.
Once work has started, the deposit covers the work done, and the previews already sent cannot be used.
During the project
Usually 1 to 4 weeks depending on the scope. The exact timeline is confirmed in the quote, before any work starts.
Set in the quote, usually 2 rounds on the shape and 2 on the details. Extra rounds are quoted separately.
Everything set up in your engine, plus terrain files, FBX meshes and textures. Raw software project files are only included if agreed.
Once fully paid, you get a commercial licence, and exclusivity if the quote includes it. I may show the work in my portfolio unless agreed otherwise.
